    Serve as a public relations and information officer, managing communications for a district serving 25,000+ students across 28 schools. Act as a creative strategist, ensuring all messaging aligns with the district's vision: supporting every student to meet grade-level standards, feel safe, and achieve individual success.

    Press & Newsroom

    - Build and maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets.

    - Write press releases and stories to highlight district events and news.

    - Pitch stories to news outlets and coordinate press opportunities, such as the Stockton Record article about MUSD’s implementation of standards-based report cards.

    Strategic Communication Plans

    - Lead intake meetings with district leaders, then develop and implement strategic communication plans for major initiatives across departments such as HR, Student Services, and the Superintendent’s office.

    Event Planning

    - Planned and executed a two-day event for California legislative staff to showcase district programs, including panel coordination and school site visits focused on Expanded Learning, English Language Development, and Visual & Performing Arts (VAPA).     Crisis Support

    - Coordinate with administrators and law enforcement to accurately communicate to staff and families during emergency situations in a timely manner

    Public-Facing Communications

    - Social Media: Oversee social media accounts, creating, scheduling, and monitoring posts. Stay informed of community feedback and local developments.

    - E-Newsletter: Conceptualize and direct the monthly district-wide newsletter, reaching 45,000+ recipients, including Board members, parents, and students.

    - Mass Communications: Draft and distribute critical messages (email, text, app alerts, phone calls) in English, Spanish, and Punjabi to up to 50,000 people.

    - Web Management: Create and update content on the district’s website.

    - Event Coverage: Attend and photograph meetings and events for all 28 schools, district office, and Board of Education.

    - Video Production: Record and edit short films to communicate district initiatives in an easily digestible format

  • [August 2021 - July 2022] Eugene, OR

    • Coordinated social media strategy and managed the Office for the VP for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) accounts, utilizing strategic hashtag usage and timing to target key funding organizations.

    • Tracked Twitter Analytics and implement results and feedback to improve overall social media strategy.

    • Represented the OVPRI at University events, capture photos, and report on the event on communications platforms.

    • Increased Twitter following by 3% in the first 3 months of account management.

    • Improved overall Twitter impressions from 300 per day in September 2021 to 1,100 impressions per day in November 2021.

    • Crafted research related short stories for Around the O, the University of Oregon’s main news website.

  • Created and implemented the Alpha Delta chapter’s strategic communications plan; ensured all deadlines and goals were met throughout the year

    - Collaborated with the national Delta Gamma communications team, ensuring our chapter’s digital presence aligned with the organizations overall mission and values: to promote friendship, personal integrity, and social responsibility among women.
